Trying something new!

This is something I never thought I would ever do (start a blog), but a lot of things are changing in my life now so I figured why not. I can not promise I will post stuff very often, but I will do my best.

New job

I recently got a new job at Shaefer Auto Body in Crestwood, Missouri. I am really excited about this job. One reason I am really excited is because I went to Ranken Technical College and got my Associates Degree in Automotive Collision Repair. The other reason is they like to promote within. I have started out as Detailer, but I will only be one for about six months then I will be offered a new position. I hoping to become an apprentice body technician. I have been staying after my normal shift to learn and watch the journeymen body technicians, I am not getting paid to saty after but I feel it is worth it in the long run. The average body technician makes around 50 to 60 thousand a year. A guy who I have been watching a lot graduated from Ranken a year before I started so he has been in the field about five years now, and last year he made 93 thousand. Another guy I have been watching has been in the field for around 18 years, and has been making around a 100 thousand for the last ten years. It will take a lot of time and effort, but it wont be that bad since it will be doing something I have grown to love to do, and that is take car that is damaged and make it like it was never in a wreck. Schaefer's slogan is "Make it like it never happened." so I think is the perfect company for me!

My life

I thought I would start out with my life until now. First I was born in Fulton, Missouri. The hospital I was born in is not the main town hospital anymore. I believe it is now a elderly home now. I share my birthday with my Uncle Charlie. I have one brother ( Chad ), two step brothers ( William and Micheal Shane ), four brother-in-laws ( Aaron, Adam, Micheal, Nathan, and Matt ), and two friends that I consider as brothers ( Brett Minster, and Bret Gadbury ) . I have four sister-in-laws ( Melissa, Sarah, Danelle, and Sara ), and two friends I consider as sisters ( Laura Minster , and Laura Healy ) . My mother is Debbie Sutherlin. The person who helped raise me was my grandfather Dennis Dews, but I also have a step father who helped raise me as well Micheal Sutherlin. My father-in-law is Glenn, and my mother-in-law is Anne. My wife is Elizabeth, and my son is Emett.

Growing up I was not the most well behaved ( shocking isn't it ), but I feel I have grown up into a man my grandfather would be proud of. I strive to be more like him everyday. I played a lot of sports as a kid. I started out playing tee ball but thats is far as my baseball fascination went. I also play soccer for a year. As far as football I played flag football and tackle football up till my freshman year in high school. From sixth grade till eighth grade I ran cross country, also during those years I ran track. I was in marching band from sixth grade until my freshman year in high school.
My love for animals started with first dog Patches. Patches was dumped off the road by my grandfather's house as a puppy. Chad and I both convinced my mom, and my grandfather to let us keep her. She lived for a for about eighteen years. I have had several dogs in my life. I currently have Izzie. I have also had one horse Max. I have owned about a hand full of cats.
For three years I have been married Liz. She has given me much happiness since we started dating. I say dating because we didn't really like each other the first time we met. It actually kind of a silly situation thinking back on it now. We were in the a church gym with a bunch of our single friends playing basketball, we started playing the game knock out. I was already playing when Liz and a few other girls asked if they could play as well. Liz had never played before so I tried to explain it to her. She got up to her turn, and still had not gotten the concept of the game. So I explained it to her again. This seemed to go on for about half the time we were there ( as least it seemed like that to me ), finally I got frustrated and decided that it was just not worth it. In the end I ended up thinking she was a dumb blonde, and Liz left thinking I was a very mean person.
Three months ago Liz gave me my first son. My grandfather's middle name was Emett so we made that his first name. My middle name DeWayne ( hence the name of my blog ) so we made that Emett's middle name. He was born November 30th, 2011. He was 10 lbs 12 ounces, and 21 inches long. He still is a big baby today weighing about 20 lbs and around 24 inches. People change their minds everyday who he looks like the most. He is like me and does not to be in the same place long periods of time unless he is asleep. He is like Liz and always very happy ( I am not saying I'm not happy just not in every situation like they are ).
